Job summary

Kier Group is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead a major healthcare project in Bedford. You will oversee the project team, manage budgets and programmes, and ensure delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest safety standards.

You will mentor junior team members, coordinate with clients and stakeholders, and drive project success from pre-construction through to handover, reporting to the Project Director. The role is based in Bedford with full-time hours and site presence.

Qualifications

• Experience leading on substantial value projects from pre-construction to delivery.
• Demonstrable experience of managing project budgets and programmes.
• Strong communication skills for leadership reporting and stakeholder updates.
• Expert knowledge of NEC and JCT contract conditions.
• Construction qualification at degree level or equivalent with safety certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership on assigned projects from tender through to delivery, overseeing site teams to manage performance against programme and budget.
• Understand client goals and translate them to site, agreeing timescales, costs and resources needed.
• Select and lead project teams, negotiating with contractors and suppliers to deliver works.
• Manage multi-discipline project teams and communicate with staff at every level.
• Identify solutions to technical and logistical challenges, ensuring timely reporting to clients and stakeholders.
