Job summary

Tesco UK is seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead the xAPI Platform from our London office. You will own the platform strategy, outcomes, and backlog, working closely with engineers delivering core xAPI product work.

This hands-on leadership role requires balancing developer needs, architecture trade-offs and business priorities. You’ll collaborate with engineering leadership on discovery, sequencing and delivery, set adoption and health metrics, and drive measurable outcomes across

Qualifications

• Significant product management experience owning technically complex platforms.
• Experience with API products, developer-focused platforms and PaaS capabilities.
• Proven ability to manage engineering backlogs including architecture evolution and technical debt.
• Strong roadmapping, discovery, and stakeholder leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Define a clear product strategy and outcome-led roadmap for the xAPI Platform.
• Understand platform users and improve end-to-end developer and service owner experiences.
• Establish success metrics for adoption, platform health, and engineering efficiency.
• Prioritize the team backlog across capabilities, investments, and operational work.
• Make evidence-based trade-offs on reliability, security, scalability and cost.
• Turn complex engineering opportunities into measurable outcomes and stories.
• Collaborate with engineering leadership on discovery, sequencing and delivery.
• Coordinate dependencies to enable safe cross-team changes into the xAPI ecosystem.
• Provide governance communications to senior leaders on direction and delivery.
• Act as the product subject-matter expert for the xAPI Platform.
