Job summary

Qualifications

• 8+ years as a Technical PM for high-scale APIs, platforms, or data products.
• Strong API design knowledge (OpenAPI/Swagger) and system design basics.
• Experience with cloud platforms (GCP/AWS/Azure) and AI/LLM integrations.
• Proficient in Scrum/Kanban and in writing technical specs.
• Experience in e-commerce, travel tech, or large-scale marketplaces is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own roadmaps and backlogs for core APIs and microservices with high availability.
• Collaborate with engineers and data teams on data models, APIs, AI workflows.
• Establish data governance policies across multi-market products.
• Write clear user stories (BDD/Gherkin) and set OKRs/KPIs; lead sprint planning.
• Bridge tech teams with business leaders and executives.

Lead Product Manager - API & Platforms

Location: Manchester, UK, Only 1 or 2 days to office

Role Overview

We are looking for a Lead Product Manager to own and scale our core API platforms, backend microservices, and data tools. You will lead cross-functional engineering teams to build high-performance systems, improve developer experience, and integrate AI/data solutions across our global platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Platform & API Strategy: Own the roadmap and backlog for core APIs and microservices, ensuring high availability, speed, and scalability.
• Technical & AI Execution: Work with engineers and data teams to design data models, APIs (REST/OpenAPI), recommendation engines, and AI workflows.
• Data Governance: Build clear data policies and frameworks across multi-market products.
• Agile Delivery: Write clear user stories (BDD/Gherkin), set team OKRs/KPIs, and lead sprint planning across engineering squads.
• Stakeholder Alignment: Bridge the gap between technical engineering teams, business leaders, and executive stakeholders.

Key Requirements

• Experience: 8+ years as a Technical PM managing high-scale APIs, platforms, or data products.
• Technical Skills: Deep understanding of API design (OpenAPI/Swagger/Postman), system design, and database tools (SQL/Python basics).
• AI & Cloud: Exposure to cloud infrastructure (GCP/Azure/AWS) and AI/LLM integrations.
• Agile & Delivery: Strong experience in Scrum/Kanban, writing technical specifications, and managing delivery cadences.
• Domain: Experience in e-commerce, travel tech, or large-scale digital marketplaces is a plus.
