Job summary

Leonardo UK is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to lead the delivery, maintenance, and improvement of secure platforms for defence and government customers. You will design, integrate, and support on‑premise and hybrid systems while mentoring engineers and collaborating with stakeholders.

This role offers a blended hybrid working model with some on-site work at Yeovil, a competitive salary (£44,171–£61,950), and a clear path to contribute to enterprise‑grade solutions within a DV clearance

Qualifications

• Experience delivering and supporting complex platforms.
• Ability to balance hands-on engineering with leadership and mentoring.
• Confidence to own solutions and represent engineering in discussions.
• Security clearance process familiarity and DV readiness.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, build, and support of secure platforms on-premise and hybrid.
• Own delivery for work packages including planning and reporting.
• Develop and review system architectures, low‑level designs, and documentation.
• Integrate and test platform components with security and performance focus.
• Provide mentoring and technical leadership to Platform Engineers.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure solutions meet requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement and contribute to engineering standards.
