Leonardo UK is seeking a Principal Platform Engineer to lead the design, delivery and maintenance of secure platform solutions in a cyber and security context. The role is based at Yeovil with hybrid working between home and site, supporting defence, government and public sector services.

You will act as a technical authority across platform domains and collaborate with customers and internal teams to solve complex problems while mentoring junior engineers.

• Extensive technical expertise across multiple platform domains with secure solutions.
• Ability to balance hands-on engineering with technical leadership and mentorship.
• Problem-solving mindset to innovate and address complex challenges.

Responsabilités

• Act as technical authority on a platform engineering domain.
• Lead secure platform design across on-premise environments.
• Capture and interpret complex customer requirements for system design.
• Develop high- and low-level designs aligned with secure-by-design principles.
• Own technical delivery including planning, estimation, progress reporting.
• Mentor engineers and raise technical capability.
