Job summary

Astronomer, the company behind Astro, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team. You’ll influence how our production infrastructure is designed, tested, built, and deployed, as Astro, Observe, and IDE products scale for global data pipelines.

You’ll own testing, building, and deploying code in a high-scale PaaS, collaborate across teams to set standards, and contribute to incident management and platform evolution. This role emphasizes reliability and ownership.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in non-abstract systems design and implementation.
• Proficient in Python and Golang; deep Kubernetes experience (CKA or equivalent).
• Experience with observability principles and defining/tracking SLI/SLOs.
• Strong communication skills and experience working with globally distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Make high-quality, data-driven decisions on building the next generation of production platform; deliver results.
• Own and build testing, building, and deployment in a high-scale PaaS environment.
• Collaborate across the company on production system design, standards, and technology choices.
