Job summary

Permutable is building real-time AI systems that transform global data into market intelligence. We are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to own the platform and infrastructure behind the system architecture.

You will design and scale highly available production infrastructure across AWS, Kubernetes/EKS, ECS, Docker, RDS/PostgreSQL and S3, moving toward real-time event-driven services. You will own reliability, observability, and the tooling that enables AI agents and large-scale workloads.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar.
• 7+ years of professional experience in Platform Engineering, Infrastructure, SRE, DevOps or distributed backend engineering.
• Strong AWS experience, including EKS/ECS, RDS PostgreSQL, S3 and Lambda.
• Experience with event-driven architectures, messaging and distributed workflows.
• Infrastructure-as-Code with Pulumi or Terraform.
• CI/CD with GitHub Actions and production operations.
• Strong engineering fundamentals: Python, Linux, networking, databases.

Responsibilities

• Design and scale production infrastructure across AWS, Kubernetes/EKS, ECS, Docker, RDS/PostgreSQL and S3.
• Build real-time, event-driven architectures with messaging and asynchronous processing.
• Develop infra to support agent-driven AI workloads, including state management and orchestration.
• Collaborate with AI engineers on production NLP, LLM and model workloads, including GPU infra.
• Automate deployments and IaC with Pulumi and GitHub Actions.
• Ensure reliability with monitoring, logging, tracing and alerting across data, model, service and agent infra.
• Own production reliability and respond to critical infrastructure issues.
