Humand Talent is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer in Reading to support our core technology environment and production systems. You’ll join an established team handling day-to-day operations, project work, and longer-term improvements across a broad technical landscape.
You will work on Linux-based production systems, investigate complex performance and reliability issues, and automate repetitive tasks.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys getting underneath complex technical problems and working across the systems and infrastructure that keep modern services running.
Rather than being focused on one narrow area, you'll work across a varied technical environment, combining hands‑on engineering, troubleshooting, automation and continuous improvement.
You'll join an established engineering team responsible for the reliability, performance and ongoing development of the company's core technology environment.
Your work will include a mixture of day-to-day engineering, project work and longer-term improvements.
It's deliberately a broad role. You'll have the opportunity to understand how the wider environment fits together and take ownership of problems from investigation through to resolution.
You'll have a strong background in Linux focused systems or infrastructure engineering within production environments.
Your experience is likely to include several of the following:
We're not looking for someone who can simply tick every technology off a checklist.
What's more important is your ability to understand complex systems, diagnose difficult problems and make good engineering decisions.
This is an opportunity to join a growing business where strong infrastructure and systems engineering is still genuinely valued.
You'll have the autonomy to improve things rather than simply maintain them, while remaining hands‑on with interesting technical challenges.
There's also plenty of variety. If you enjoy understanding how systems work beneath the surface, solving problems that don't always have an obvious answer and leaving an environment better than you found it, you'll have plenty to get involved with.
We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and are committed to an inclusive recruitment process. All applicants will be considered based on their skills, experience and suitability for the role, without discrimination on the basis of any protected characteristic.
If you require reasonable adjustments at any stage of the recruitment process, please let us know and we'll be happy to support you.
