Job summary
Ocho People is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer for a Stockport-based hybrid role on a 12-month contract. The focus is an on-premise to Google Cloud migration, with hands-on GCP, Kubernetes and Linux work alongside Terraform and IaC tooling.
The team is small (3–5 engineers) and project-driven, with long-term operational handover to TechOps after projects complete. The ideal candidate has senior Platform/DevOps experience, strong cloud migration skills, and the ability to design and implement
Qualifications
- Strong GCP experience and hands-on Kubernetes
- Proven Linux systems administration and automation skills
- Experience designing and implementing cloud migration projects
- Background in Platform/Cloud Engineering or DevOps
- Experience with Terraform or IaC tooling and scalable infrastructure implementations
Responsibilities
- Support migration of workloads from on-premise to GCP
- Design, build and improve cloud platform infrastructure
- Work with Kubernetes across containerised environments
- Provision and manage infrastructure with Terraform and IaC tooling
- Apply strong Linux system administration across platforms
- Contribute to cloud architecture and governance
- Improve scalability, reliability and maintainability of infra
- Support automation and standardisation across cloud environments
- Collaborate with senior engineers, architects and stakeholders
- Produce technical documentation and handover to TechOps
- Provide senior technical input on infrastructure projects
