Job summary

Capgemini UK is seeking a Senior/Lead Platform Engineer to design, build and operate production-grade platforms for government services. You will work across multi-cloud environments, driving secure, observable and scalable solutions with a strong emphasis on CI/CD, security and FinOps.

The role is hybrid, with a mix of home, Capgemini offices and client sites, and involves collaborating closely with client teams to set engineering standards and platform-as-a-product thinking.

Qualifications

• Senior/Lead Platform Engineer with experience solving infrastructure problems and building production-grade platforms.
• Experience in cloud-native and open-source tooling.
• Ability to influence design, strategy and governance decisions.

Responsibilities

• Act as a senior technical voice across the engagement, influencing platform strategy, design choices and governance guardrails.
• Lead technical workshops and design reviews with client stakeholders and engineering teams.
• Define platform standards (security, reliability, operability, CI/CD, observability) and drive adoption.
• Design secure multi-cloud landing zones (AWS focus) and internal developer platforms for self-service.
