Job summary

Akuna Capital in London is seeking a Platform Engineer to own and deliver cloud-based infrastructure initiatives. You will work with Trading, Development, Infrastructure and Operations teams to design and implement scalable, secure platforms in a hybrid cloud, using Kubernetes (EKS/on-prem), Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.

You should have 5+ years in Platform/Cloud/SRE/DevOps, strong Linux, and hands-on AWS experience; AWS Certified preferred.

Qualifications

Degree in CS, Engineering or related field.
5+ years in Platform/Cloud Engineering, SRE, DevOps or related infrastructure roles.
AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification preferred.
Deep Kubernetes production experience (EKS & on-premise).
Strong AWS cloud infrastructure design experience; GCP a plus.
Terraform/IaC expertise with modular design.
Experience building scalable, secure cloud-native platforms.
Strong observability and troubleshooting skills.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern delivery.
Strong Linux administration and scripting (Python, Bash).
Experience with cloud-native data services (RDS, Aurora, Redshift, DynamoDB).
Leadership mindset and mentoring abilities.
Excellent cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

Design and implement cloud solutions and IaC.
Monitor and secure hybrid-cloud environments.
Evaluate architectures and provide recommendations.
Provision, configure, upgrade, and monitor Kubernetes, Spark, Kafka, and large-scale databases.
Automate infrastructure management and pipelines with Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, GitLab.
Explore cloud-native container tech and monitor deployments for performance.
Collaborate with teams to ensure reliable production systems.
