Job summary

Unum UK is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to design, build and maintain the platform infrastructure that supports our applications and internal tools. You will work across cloud, automation and security to deliver a stable, scalable environment for development teams.

You will lead initiatives in CI/CD, monitoring and incident response, collaborate with Development, Security, DevSecOps and Operations, and mentor peers to raise technical capability across the team.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and operating scalable cloud platform infrastructure.
• Hands-on cloud infra management at scale (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Proficient in Infrastructure as Code and automation (Terraform, scripting).
• Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, CircleCI).
• Familiar with monitoring/logging (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
• Understanding security, compliance and DevOps in cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable cloud platform infrastructure.
• Manage cloud services across compute, storage and networking.
• Develop and maintain IaC and automation to support provisioning and management.
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines for safer releases.
• Implement monitoring, logging and performance improvements.
• Mentor and collaborate with Development, Security, DevSecOps and Operations teams.
