Job summary

Unum UK is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to design, build and maintain scalable cloud platform infrastructure that supports software applications, services and internal tools.

You will work across DevOps, Security and Operations teams to implement IaC, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring and security best practices, while mentoring engineers and improving reliability for our healthcare and employee benefits platforms.

Qualifications

• Experience designing scalable cloud platforms.
• Strong automation and scripting skills.
• Experience with security in cloud environments.
• Excellent communication across technical teams.
• Experience with CI/CD tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable cloud platform infrastructure.
• Manage cloud services across compute, storage and networking.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code and automation to support provisioning and platform management.
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines to enable smoother, safer releases.
• Implement monitoring, logging and performance improvements to support operations.
• Collaborate with Development, Security, DevSecOps and Operations teams to deliver platform solutions.
• Champion security controls and compliance across cloud environments.
• Support incident response and continuous improvement to minimise downtime.
• Mentor and support engineers across the team.
