Job summary

Wayve is hiring a Platform Engineer to own and evolve the cloud infrastructure and developer tooling that underpins the Portal engineering team.

This broad, hands-on role covers Azure, Terraform/IaC, RBAC/IAM, Kubernetes, and CI/CD—supporting multi-tenant deployments with high security and reliability.

Based in London, the role offers a hybrid work model, on-call rotation, and the chance to shape tooling that accelerates autonomous driving software.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on cloud infrastructure experience, ideally Azure, with production Terraform/IaC experience.
• Strong RBAC/IAM knowledge at cloud/infrastructure level; multi-tenancy is valuable.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Security and networking fundamentals; hands-on builder, not just reviewer.
• Experience as part of a support or on-call rotation.
• A strong communicator who can coach developers, not build in isolation.
• A product mindset focusing on developer experience and tooling.
• High autonomy and ownership in a fast-moving team.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain cloud infrastructure, CI/CD and developer tooling (Azure) using Terraform across development, staging, and production environments.
• Own and evolve RBAC/IAM across cloud/infrastructure and application/product layers for a multi-tenant Portal environment.
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines to increase developer velocity, reliability and deployment safety.
• Support and improve Kubernetes-based deployment workflows and platform services.
• Build internal tools and observability capabilities that help engineers deliver performant, reliable software at scale.
• Participate in a support/on-call rotation; respond to incidents, support engineers, and contribute to root cause analysis.
• Apply practicalsecurity and networking knowledge to harden the platform and coach application developers on best practices.
