Job summary

Rowden, headquartered in Bristol, is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to help build the engineering platform that underpins how Rowden develops, deploys, and operates technology. The role focuses on developer experience, scalability, and security across the stack.

Working with Software, Infrastructure, ML, IT, Product, QA and Security teams, you’ll deliver platform tooling, automation, and API-first integration to enable fast, secure engineering outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience building and operating cloud platforms.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD.
• Experience with API-first architectures and integration.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain core platform infrastructure and services.
• Develop IDP capabilities with self-service provisioning.
• Support API-first architectures and interoperability between systems.
• Build and optimise CI/CD pipelines for secure delivery.
• Enable integration patterns across distributed systems.
• Contribute to modular platform capabilities for reuse.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to meet engineering needs.
• Implement infrastructure-as-code and automation for repeatability.
• Embed security and best practices by design.
• Contribute to platform standards and reusable components.
• Improve observability, monitoring, and alerting.
• Assist onboarding and document guidance.
• Identify opportunities to improve developer experience.
