Job summary

SoCode Limited in London is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to shape the next generation of our data-intensive platform. You will own the AWS-based platform, design scalable infrastructure, and drive reliability and developer tooling across a growing engineering organisation.

You will balance hands-on engineering with setting engineering standards, mentoring others, and influencing architectural direction as we scale to meet increasing customer and data demands.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience with AWS.
• Proven software engineering background, ideally with Go or C#.
• Experience designing and operating microservices or distributed applications.
• Infrastructure automation using Terraform.
• Containers and container orchestration (Docker, ECS or Kubernetes).
• Building and improving CI/CD environments.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL data stores.
• Designing systems around asynchronous processing and event-driven patterns.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve the AWS platform to support a growing production environment.
• Design infrastructure and services that scale with customer and data growth.
• Improve how engineering teams build, test, release and operate software.
• Create automation to reduce operational overhead and increase developer productivity.
• Establish reusable patterns for infrastructure, deployment and service ownership.
• Collaborate across compute, storage, databases, networking and serverless technologies.
• Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar within the team.
