Job summary

RedTech Recruitment is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join a well-funded early-stage tech company. Initially remote with a London hybrid office, you will build and maintain cloud infrastructure to support an innovative software platform, working across AWS, Docker, ECS, CI/CD, monitoring and deployment.

You will own and improve the AWS cloud platform, implement IaC with Terraform, ensure security and observability, and collaborate with engineers and product teams.

Qualifications

• Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure and hosting.
• Docker and containerised applications experience.
• Deploying container workloads using Amazon ECS.
• CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Monitoring and observability tools experience for platform reliability.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced startup and take ownership.
• Excellent communication with engineers, product teams and stakeholders.
• Willing and eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance (usually 5 years residency and clean record).
• Desirable: Python, TypeScript, AWS KMS and AWS Lambda.

Job description

A unique opportunity for a Senior Platform Engineer to join a well-funded early-stage technology company. Initially working remotely, with plans for a hybrid London office, you will play a key role in building and maintaining the cloud infrastructure that supports an innovative software platform. Working across AWS, CI/CD, containerisation, monitoring and deployment, you will help create a secure, scalable and reliable platform that enables software engineers to deliver high-quality products efficiently.

Due to the nature of some client projects, you must be willing and eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance. You can join the team and work on other commercial projects while your clearance application is progressing.

Location: London office, hybrid, minimum 2 days a week

Requirements for Senior Platform Engineer:

• Strong commercial experience working with AWS, including cloud infrastructure and application hosting
• Experience with Docker and containerised applications
• Experience deploying and managing container-based workloads, ideally using Amazon ECS
• Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
• Commercial experience using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Experience using cloud monitoring and observability tools to support platform reliability
• Enjoy working in a fast-paced start-up environment where you can take ownership, influence technical direction and make a genuine impact on the company's success
• Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to work closely with software engineers, product teams and senior stakeholders
• You must be willing and eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance due to the nature of some projects (this typically requires at least 5 years' continuous UK residency and a clean criminal record)
• Exposure to any of the following would be beneficial: Python, TypeScript, Amazon ECR, AWS KMS and AWS Lambda
