Job summary

AlphaSense is seeking a senior backend/platform engineer in Mobile Engineering to shape backend systems that power AI-driven product experiences. You will work with cross-functional teams across engineering, product, and customers to drive architectural investment and reusable patterns.

Ideal candidates have deep production backend expertise, can lead across teams, and can design secure, scalable APIs while balancing customer needs with durable foundations for future work.

Qualifications

• Deep production backend and distributed-systems expertise.
• Strong hands-on engineering with production code contributions.
• Experience designing REST and GraphQL APIs with retry and backward-compatibility considerations.
• Knowledge of authentication, authorization, entitlements, and session management.

Responsibilities

• Shape the systems behind product experiences: set technical direction for client APIs and backend architecture.
• Lead across engineering organizations: align priorities across teams and represent Mobile in leadership forums.
• Turn architecture into production systems: deliver services spanning team boundaries and prove in production.
• Shape shared identity and access: evolve how users authenticate and access capabilities across Web and Mobile.
• Leave engineers stronger: mentor teams and propagate reusable patterns.
