Job summary

SLAMcore is looking for a Principal Engineer to join their Engineering Architecture team in London. This critical role combines deep technical expertise with the ability to lead across teams. You will shape platform architecture and deliver scalable, efficient services while also being hands-on in code and technical delivery. Candidates should have strong experience with distributed systems, microservices, and cloud platforms like AWS. Qualifications

• Strong experience designing and evolving distributed systems and microservices architectures.
• Experience operating at Principal or Staff level.
• Comfortable with hands-on contributions in code, design, and delivery.
• Proven experience in data architecture including data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Shape platform architecture, defining standards and best practices.
• Design and deliver scalable, robust, cost-efficient services.
• Act as a senior technical advisor across engineering teams.
• Improve architecture understanding across engineering and the business.
