Job summary

Beamery in London seeks a hands-on Principal Platform Engineer to lead reliability and scalability across our cloud-based platform. You will shape architecture, drive incident response, and mentor engineers while partnering with product and leadership to deliver scalable services.

You will own platform roadmap, advance Kubernetes, Terraform, GitOps, and observability, and champion cost-aware engineering across teams. Remote options not specified.

Qualifications

• Proven track record designing scalable, reliable cloud infrastructure.
• Experience running production services with on-call leadership at scale.
• Senior/Staff level or Principal engineering leadership experience.
• Expertise managing Kubernetes clusters at scale, including autoscaling and security.
• IaC expertise with Terraform; modern GitOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Design solutions, architectures and RFCs for platform initiatives with cross-team impact.
• Ship scalable, reliable and cost-efficient services while maintaining credibility.
• Plan large platform initiatives with Product and Engineering Directors.
• Collaborate with Principal Engineers to update architectural vision.
• Set company-wide standards for observability, reliability and incident response.
• Own and evolve the platform tech radar and drive end-to-end ownership.
• Mentor engineers up to Staff level across teams and collaborate with non-technical colleagues.
