Job summary

Opticore IT is seeking a Senior Platform Architect in the London area for a 6-month contract inside IR35. The role focuses on leading cloud infrastructure design and delivery, with one day on-site per week at White City.

You will work alongside post-production and solutions architects to translate requirements into viable, cost-efficient cloud architectures. You will design GPU-enabled AWS workflows, enterprise streaming solutions, and robust storage architectures, while prioritising zero-trust

Qualifications

• Requires AWS cloud and architecture expertise.
• Experience with secure, scalable cloud design.
• Background in video workflows or media environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy a proxy and full-resolution video editing in AWS using GPU-accelerated workstations where needed.
• Utilize streaming infrastructure such as Teradici/Amazon DCV for editors located in offices or remotely.
• Design for locations without Direct Connect and for remote workers over the public Internet with zero-trust security.
• Create cost-optimised storage using AWS storage tiers and integrate file-system capable storage software.
• Ensure compatibility with AWS object storage and software requirements for applications.

Opticore IT is a specialist Network Engineer and Project Management consultancy offering a wide variety of opportunities to work within fast-paced,challenging environments across our client base spanning multiple sectors including Finance, Broadcast Media, Telecommunications and more.

Opticore IT are currently searching for a Senior Platform Architect to lead the technical design and delivery of cloud infrastructure. You'll join our excelling team, based in the London area for a 6-month contract inside IR35. This role requires one day onsite in White City per week.

This opportunity will work alongside experienced post-production architects and solutions architects who understand media workflows deeply, translating their requirements into viable, cost-effective, cloud architecture.

What you'll be doing:

• Design and deploy a simple proxy and full resolution video editing in AWS cloud using GPU-accelerated workstations where necessary.




• Make use of appropriate streaming infrastructure such as Teradici / Amazon DCV to cater for the various network links where editors may be based such as in offices, at home etc.




• Design for locations that do not have Direct Connect and for those working from home via the Public Internet maintaining zero trust security.




• Making use of organisations agreed AWS Private Pricing, design an optimised storage solution that appropriately tiers content to the correct class of AWS storage to minimise storage, transaction and retrieval costs.




• Design for the integration of appropriate storage software on top of AWS object storage to provide File System support for the applications that need it, i.e. those which do not support object storage natively.
