Job summary

Biogen (UK) Ltd in Millerhill, Dalkeith, is recruiting a Senior Plant Maintenance Engineer to deputise for the Site Manager and lead the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programme. You will prioritise reactive maintenance, manage downtime of key equipment and ensure safe, cost‑effective plant operation.

The ideal candidate will hold an electrical or mechanical engineering qualification, with PLC/electronics experience and familiarity with materials handling, confined spaces and first aid.

Qualifications

• Qualified in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• Experience with PLC controls or electronics preferred.
• Experience or qualification in materials handling, confined spaces, working at heights and first aid.
• WAMITAB competency management standards and NEBOSH general certificate desirable.
• Experience with cost control and budgeting.
• Able to lead and work as part of a team, and independently.

Responsibilities

• Lead Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) system.
• Manage downtime of key equipment for planned, safe, cost-effective overhaul.
• Prioritise reactive maintenance and repairs to minimise disruption.
• Ensure adherence to environmental, safety and quality management systems.
• Remote monitoring of the AD process and weekend/on-call rota duties.
