Job summary

Rossendale Borough Council is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Senior Planning Officer to join our Development Management team. You will manage your own caseload of planning applications, prepare professional reports, and present cases to the Planning Committee.

You will provide planning advice to applicants, agents, councillors and the public, and play a key role in line-managing and mentoring other team members.

Qualifications

• Extensive Development Management experience needed.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with applicants, agents, councillors and the public.
• Ability to deliver high-quality work in a busy, customer-focused environment.
• Experience in line-management or mentoring is desirable.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced planner to join our Development Management team as a Senior Planning Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a varied and challenging caseload, including major planning applications, appeals and complex development proposals that will help shape the future of the borough.

You will be responsible for managing your own caseload of applications, preparing professional reports, presenting applications to Planning Committee and providing planning advice to applicants, agents, councillors and members of the public. You will also play an important role in line-managing, supporting and mentoring other members of the team.

The successful candidate will be a planner with extensive Development Management experience, excellent communication skills and the ability to deliver high-quality work in a busy and customer-focused environment.
