Job summary

Peterborough City Council is inviting applications for a Development Management Officer in the Planning Service. You will be trained to manage a diverse caseload of planning and related applications, from local to major schemes, supporting senior planners on high-profile projects and contributing to service improvements.

Our Development Management Team plays a vital role in shaping the city and its surrounding countryside, assessing a wide range of development proposals—from local applications to major strategic schemes.

In this role, you'll be trained to manage a diverse caseload of planning and related applications, building valuable experience and developing your professional expertise. You'll also work alongside experienced Principal Planners, supporting the delivery of high-profile projects such as city centre developments and sustainable urban extensions.

Do you have a genuine interest for contributing to the future planning and delivery of economic growth and housing within a developing City environment? Are you committed to supporting a quality environment enabling access and opportunities for all?

We are looking for a individual who is willing to learn and adapt to changes, is able to work independently or as team and is motivated.

Have strong research and analysis skills, with ability to read and interpret legislation.

Having a Town Planning/Urban Planning or related degree is desirable, but above all we are looking for people with a strong interest in the built environment who want to improve the city of Peterborough.
