The project:

A strategic infrastructure (within the defence sector) program where Mace has been appointed as one of the delivery partners to provide expertise in managing and delivering key infrastructure projects by bringing specialist skills to support the client's programme of infrastructure improvements. BPSS / SC clearance is required. This role will be based in the client's office 3 days per week.

  • Have excellent attention to detail & be able to validate & check schedule management inputs, recordings, & reports, providing basic commentary & analysis.
  • Manage assistants and planning managers where required by the project scale.

  • Be capable of creating and delivering persuasive presentations to large audiences.
  • Identify and develop talented individuals.
  • Be accountable for the planning function on allocated projects or tenders.
  • Ensure projects/tenders are effectively planned, scheduled, and monitored.
  • Support project management in delivery, ensuring projects are completed on time and profitably.
  • Be responsible for planning medium to high complexity projects, portfolios, or sections of larger projects.

Qualifications and experience needed:
  • Experience as a Primavera P6 project planner on large-scale civil engineering/infrastructure projects, ideally for a tier 1 contractor or client-side consultancy.
  • Excellent written communication skills and in-depth knowledge of schedule management tools & software.
  • Up-to-date with current industry/professional trends.
  • Multi-industry construction experience.
  • Proven service delivery and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong management and talent development skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Significant experience using planning techniques across sectors.
  • Degree in construction or engineering discipline (or equivalent) preferred.
  • Digitally savvy with leadership qualities to build client relationships and motivate teams.
Additional preferred qualifications:
  • Membership of relevant professional bodies (APM, RICS, CIOB, ICE, etc.).
  • Extensive planning experience in the consult sector.
  • Deep property or infrastructure project management expertise.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen.
  • Leadership experience managing large, diverse teams.
  • Experience with sustainability considerations in projects.
