Job summary

The Resolute Group Ltd is seeking a Senior Planning Manager for Scotland's Power and Energy framework. You will lead the planning function for a multi-billion value programme, directing a team and coordinating with leadership to deliver a 5-year plan from design through to handover.

You will update master programmes, load resources and costs, and provide 2–4 week lookahead reporting while collaborating with senior Directors to manage client expectations.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or engineering-based subject preferred.
  • Proven experience delivering major programmes in a senior capacity.
  • Experience in full life cycle of large-scale heavy civil projects.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Residency in Scotland on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, create and manage planning teams and programmes using Primavera P6 across the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure programmes meet NEC contractual obligations and support governance with robust reporting.
  • Oversee risk, change management and compensation events影 disruptions and ensure client awareness.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, designers and subcontractors to resolve dependencies and optimize delivery.
  • Mentor planners and maintain high standards across the region.

Package: £7,250 Car or Car allowance, 15% Bonus, Private Healthcare, Pension

Location: Glasgow

Working Pattern: 3 days a week on site / Office, 2 days a week from home.

Role Description

As a Senior Planning Manager for the Scottish Power & Energy division, you will be leading the Planning function for the division. Working with the leadership team to manage the Master programme, leading the planning team to successfully deliver a 5-year framework worth over £4 billion in value.

You will be responsible for monitoring progress by updating the master programme with resource and cost loading and producing 2–4–week lookahead reports.

Reporting to the Framework Director, you will work alongside the Project Directors, Head of Engineering, and Commercial Director to manage stakeholder expectations around programme delivery.

Core responsibilities:
  • Programme Development: Lead, create and manage a team, undertaking detailed, resource-loaded construction programmes using Primavera P6, ensuring they reflect the full project lifecycle from design to handover.
  • Contractual Compliance: Ensure all programmes meet strict contractual obligations, particularly under NEC forms of contract.
  • Project Controls & Reporting: Establish periodic progress reporting, providing insights into schedule health, Earned Value Analysis, and critical path performance to senior leadership and clients.
  • Risk & Change Management: Lead schedule risk analysis and maintain the risk register. Formally identify, assess, and notify the client of programme impacts caused by compensation events or variations.
  • Collaboration: Facilitate collaborative planning sessions and interface workshops with subcontractors, design teams, and stakeholders to resolve dependencies and clashes.
  • Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop a team of planners across the project or region, ensuring consistent planning standards and professional development.

This is a hybrid role, but you need to have full control over the programme, managing it as you see fit. Some weeks may need your full attention in the office, others may require just a light touch, giving you time for reports, meetings and admin time.

Required Experience
  • Formal qualification – Degree in Civil Engineering or an Engineering-based subject, ideally.
  • Proven project experience delivering Major programmes in a senior capacity.
  • Experienced in full life cycle of large scale heavy civil projects
  • Full driving licence
  • Living in Scotland on a full-time basis.
