Job summary

North Yorkshire Council seeks an ambitious Senior Planning and Environment Solicitor to lead the Planning, Highways and Environmental Law work within the Legal Service. You will manage a small team, advise on a wide range of matters, and represent the council at committees and inquiries.

Qualifications

• Qualification as a Solicitor, Barrister or CILEX.
• Experience in Planning and Environmental Law.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a small team within the Property Planning and Environment team.
• Advise Officers and Councillors on planning, highway and environmental issues.
• Attend Planning and other Council Committees as required.
• Represent the Assistant Chief Executive/Head of Legal on boards and project teams.
