Job summary

North Yorkshire Council is recruiting a Senior Planning and Environment Solicitor in Northallerton. The role focuses on planning, highways and environmental law, leading a small team, and advising officers and councillors on complex issues.

You will attend Planning and other Council Committees and occasionally appear at court or inquiries, while managing your caseload with independence. A strong collaborative approach is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a small team within the Property Planning and Environment team.

• Attend Planning, Executive and other Council Committees as required.
• Manage own caseload with minimal supervision.
• Work with external clients and partners.
