Job summary

Lily Lifestyle in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Planning Engineer to strengthen our growing manufacturing team with expertise in capacity planning, forecasting, and ERP project leadership. This role sits at the heart of our engineering operations.

You will develop and maintain capacity plans across Engineering, Procurement, Assembly, and Testing, lead ERP implementation, and provide clear visibility of hours and workloads to mitigate delivery risks.

Qualifications

• Experience in capacity planning, production planning, or operations planning within engineering/manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and constraints.
• Experience developing resource-loaded schedules and capacity models.
• Advanced Excel skills with dashboards, formulas, and capacity modelling.
• Excellent communication and ability to work across teams.

Responsibilities

• Cap acity planning and forecasting across multiple functions.
• Lead the implementation of a new ERP system.
• Develop and maintain capacity plans covering Engineering, Procurement, Assembly, Inspection and testing, Quality & Projects.
• Provide visibility of available labour hours, planned workload, resource gaps and delivery risks.
• Maintain forward-looking capacity plans for current projects, secured orders and future opportunities.
• Support strategic workforce planning by identifying needs for additional resources or subcontract support.
• Create and maintain resource-loaded schedules to understand workload impact.
• Develop planning models showing department loading and bottlenecks; work with managers to improve accuracy.
• Identify conflicting priorities and propose mitigation actions.

The job you'll do:

• Capacity Planning & Forecasting
• Head up the implementation of a new ERP system
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive capacity plan covering all business functions, including: Engineering, Procurement, Assembly, Inspection and testing, Quality & Projects
• Project support functions
• Provide accurate visibility of: Available labour hours, Planned workload, Resource gaps, Department constraints and Potential delivery risks
• Maintain forward-looking capacity plans covering current projects, secured orders, and future quoted opportunities.
• Support strategic workforce planning by identifying when additional resources, subcontract support, training, or investment may be required.
• Create and maintain resource-loaded schedules to understand the impact of current and future workload.
• Develop planning models that demonstrate: Department loading, Labour demand versus availability, Project resource requirements, Critical bottlenecks and Delivery risks
• Work with department managers to validate resource assumptions and improve planning accuracy.
• Identify conflicting priorities and recommend mitigation actions.

About you:

• Proven experience in capacity planning, production planning, resource scheduling, or operations planning within an engineering/manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and resource constraints.
• Experience developing resource-loaded schedules and capacity models.
• Advanced Excel skills, including: Complex formulas, Pivot tables, Data analysis, Reporting dashboards, Capacity modelling
• Ability to analyse large amounts of data and convert information into clear business decisions.
• Excellent communication skills at all levels
• Well organised and self-motivated
• Able to work well both independently and within a team
