Job summary

London Borough of Bexley is recruiting for a Planning Enforcement Officer to manage a high caseload and provide professional expertise on enforcement matters. The role is permanent and office-based at least two days a week, with hybrid working.

You will investigate breaches from receipt to conclusion, negotiate resolutions, and prepare appeal cases to ensure compliance. The successful candidate will have a first degree or equivalent suitable for RTPI accreditation, strong communication skills,

Qualifications

• First degree or equivalent allowing entry onto RTPI accredited postgraduate degree.
• Experience investigating breaches of planning control.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to negotiate to resolve breaches and enforce compliance.

Responsibilities

• Investigate reported breaches of planning control from receipt to conclusion.
• Resolve issues by negotiation and negotiation with stakeholders.
• Serve formal notices and prepare appeal cases as required.
• Provide support to the Planning Enforcement Manager and the team.
