Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an experienced Planning Leader to join the Complex Projects team in the UK as Associate Director. You will lead planning across major infrastructure programmes, integrate schedule with cost and risk, and provide strategic planning guidance to clients and senior stakeholders.

You will mentor planning professionals, drive best practice, and contribute to business development while supporting flexible and hybrid working arrangements.

Qualifications

• Significant planning and project controls experience across major infrastructure projects.
• Experience leading planning teams in rail, water, defence, energy, transportation or similar infrastructure environments.
• Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6 and scheduling best practices.
• Experience with NEC contracts and programme requirements.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with senior-level engagement.
• Experience mentoring planning professionals.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership across major infrastructure programmes as Associate Director.
• Lead planning teams on complex infrastructure and capital delivery programmes.
• Establish, maintain and assure programme baselines to support contractual obligations.
• Provide strategic planning advice to clients, project teams and senior stakeholders.
• Build trusted relationships with client leadership and act as planning expert.
• Integrate schedule, cost and risk information to drive informed decisions.
• Lead schedule reviews, critical path analysis and performance reporting.
• Develop reporting frameworks including Earned Value Management.
• Oversee contractor schedules, baseline management and governance processes.
• Conduct delay analysis and recovery planning for successful outcomes.
• Champion best practice and continuous improvement in planning.
• Mentor and develop planning professionals; support recruitment and capability development.
• Contribute to business development and work winning activities.
