Job summary

Chadwick Nott is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate to join its Planning & Environmental team in Bristol. The role involves working on major infrastructure projects and complex development matters, with hybrid flexibility and competitive salary.

The candidate will engage in DCOs/ICOs, town and country planning matters, and provide planning support across property, energy and infrastructure transactions, collaborating across teams and mentoring juniors.

Qualifications

• Approximately 3-6 years PQE (flexible for strong candidates).
• Experience advising on DCOs, ICOs and/or major infrastructure regimes.
• Strong Town and Country Planning Act experience.
• Experience in energy, transport, utilities or regeneration sectors (advantageous).
• Environmental law experience (beneficial but not essential).
• Strong drafting, analytical and technical skills.
• Commercial, pragmatic and solutions focused approach.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Enthusiasm for business development and team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Development Consent Orders for Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects.
• Infrastructure consenting regimes and examination processes.
• Town and Country Planning Act matters, including applications, appeals and development strategy.
• Negotiating section 106 agreements, highways agreements and related documentation.
• Providing planning support on corporate, real estate, energy and infrastructure transactions.
• Working collaboratively across the wider Transactional Property Group.
• Building strong client relationships and acting as a trusted adviser.
• Supporting business development and contributing to the growth of the practice.
• Sharing knowledge and supporting junior colleagues.
