Job summary

Atomic Weapons Establishment is seeking a Senior Planner to deliver the complete planning capability for the Astraea programme, maintaining the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS). The role supports Task Managers with rhythms, schedule integrity, network analysis and reporting to inform key programme decisions.

You will lead planning across the full lifecycle, mentor junior planners and ensure governance and safety standards are met within a national security context.

Qualifications

• Experience of planning on projects/programmes in a dynamic, delivery focused environment.
• Advanced level of skill with Oracle Primavera P6.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Qualification in an appropriate business or technical discipline, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planning capability through development and maintenance of complex IMS.
• Lead planning activities across the full project lifecycle under configuration control.
• Perform schedule analysis including critical path, dependencies and forecasting.
• Facilitate planning workshops and provide assurance through peer reviews and governance.
• Drive continuous improvement in planning processes, tools, and capability across the programme.
• Identify risks and provide early warning and recovery options to stakeholders.
• Lead, mentor junior planners and embed high standards of quality and delivery.
• Champion safety, health, environment, security and quality principles.
