Job summary

Penguin Recruitment is seeking an experienced Principal Planner to join its Warwickshire team. The role involves leading a range of planning and environmental projects, providing technical planning advice, and managing projects from inception to completion.

Applicants should have significant UK town planning experience, a strong understanding of planning policy and environmental legislation, and experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams. A driving licence is desirable for site work.

Qualifications

• Significant professional experience in town planning/planning consultancy.
• Strong knowledge of the UK planning system, policy and environmental legislation.
• Experience managing planning projects from inception to delivery.
• Experience with EIA and Environmental Statements is advantageous.
• Liaising with local authorities, regulators and statutory consultees.
• Full UK driving licence desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to a range of planning and environmental projects.
• Provide technical support and planning advice to senior colleagues and project teams.
• Manage projects from initial instruction through to completion.
• Coordinate internal and external technical specialists.
• Lead Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and Environmental Statements.
• Oversee planning applications and Development Consent Orders where required.
