Job summary

Penguin Recruitment is seeking a Senior Town Planner to join its Kent team. You will lead planning projects from inception to determination, working across residential and commercial schemes and liaising with clients and local authorities.

The role offers ownership of a diverse portfolio within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment. A UK driving licence and MRTPI membership or progress toward chartered status are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years' experience in a planning consultancy or local authority environment.
• MRTPI membership or actively working towards chartered status.
• Experience across residential and commercial development projects.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to attend site visits and client meetings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Manage planning projects from initial instruction through to planning decision.
• Attend client meetings and maintain strong working relationships.
• Liaise with local planning authorities and statutory consultees to facilitate successful outcomes.
• Prepare and review planning applications, appeals and supporting documentation.
• Mentor junior team members and foster professional development.
• Monitor changes in planning legislation and policy, with focus on Green Belt and Grey Belt guidance.
