Qualifications

• Honours degree in a relevant subject is desirable.
• RTPI-accredited planning degree is desirable.
• RTPI chartered membership is desirable.
• More than 2 years' private or public sector planning experience.
• Understanding of the development management process.
• Understanding of planning policy and Local Plans.
• Strong report writing and analytical skills.
• Excellent organisation and time-management abilities.
• Ability to negotiate outcomes for clients and communicate clearly.
• Strong presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Undertake planning appraisals advising clients on consent likelihood and strategy.
• Carry out research and analytical tasks and produce client-facing reports.
• Support with management of project teams including architects and consultants.
• Prepare planning applications and Planning Statements.
• Prepare representations to local plans and policy consultations.
• Research and assist in appeals against refusals of planning consent.
• Prepare proofs of evidence for senior staff as expert witnesses at inquiries.
• Meet targets for fee earning from project delivery.
• Assist in writing tender proposals to win new work.
• Support business development ideas and client research.
