Job summary

Murphy is recruiting for a Senior Planner to work within the Energy sector on the EGL1 Project in Durham. The role focuses on developing resourced programmes, risk analysis, and coordination with estimators, design engineers, and the supply chain to deliver complex civil engineering works.

The Senior Planner will communicate scope clearly, prepare planning outputs, and contribute to bid reviews and handover discussions to ensure successful delivery on major EPC-type projects.

Qualifications

• Experience on major civil engineering and/or construction projects.
• Experience working on HV power, transmission & distribution projects.
• Proficient in planning software: P6, Asta, TILOS, QSRA.
• Active experience with diverse planning techniques for tendering and contract delivery.
• Clear understanding of commercial and contractual interfaces with planning.

Responsibilities

• Assimilate information and summarise work scope for communication to others.
• Prepare a resourced programme and review conformance with expectations.
• Contribute to the risk register and perform programme risk analysis.
• Create visual material supporting planned methods.
• Manage project documentation in an orderly fashion.
• Define methods and outputs with the estimator and supply chain as needed.
• Liaise with design engineers to establish a design brief for temporary works.
• Provide the estimator with a justified schedule of temporary works and indirect costs.
• Attend bid review meetings to outline work scope and execution plans.
• Attend handover meetings to define tasks and delivery approaches.
• Advise project team on required feedback reports in consultation with the Estimator.
