Job summary

Aureos is seeking an experienced Senior Planner to lead the planning function for a major nuclear decommissioning and demolition project in Dungeness.

The role requires accountability for development, update and maintenance of the Clause 31 programme under an NEC4 contract, with leadership of collaborative planning reviews and reporting cadence across project controls, SPI/EVM and forecasting.

Qualifications

  • Degree in civil engineering, demolition or construction.
  • Experience in industrial or nuclear regulated environments.
  • IT proficiency with Primavera P6 and integration of project controls.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Cl31/Cl32 programme and ensure client submissions meet contract requirements.
  • Collaborate with commercial to support cost-to-complete models and reporting.
  • Coordinate design activities to align with the programme and ensure visibility of progress.

Aureos are seeking an experienced Senior Planner to lead the planning function of a major nuclear decommissioning and demolition project in Dungeness.

The role requires full accountability for development, agreement, update and maintenance of the Clause 31 programme under an NEC4 contract.

The successful candidate will bring strong leadership, technical understanding of planning requirements in NEC Contracts, including required reporting cycles.

The candidate will lead collaborative planning reviews and ensure the schedule is in line with agreements made.

They will collaborate with commercial and project controls functions to maintain reporting structures, SPI’s EVM and forecasting.

Primary Tasks And Duties
Financial Control
  • Programme analysis and summating into written reports with recommendations.
  • Reviewing outputs and ensuring that programmes are submitted in line with contractual requirements.
  • Programme schedule management of complex and inter-related projects and programmes of work, including resource scheduling and cost loaded programmes.
  • Provide the Project Director with the appropriate information and insights needed to inform business decision making.
  • Ensure scheme compliance with contractual requirements, process is followed for risk management and control measures in place and monitored.
  • Review with the commercial team to allow detailed cost to complete models to be built and monitored.
Programme Management
  • Thorough review of Tender/Cl31/Cl32 programme, ensure submission to Client in line with contractual requirement.
  • Review with commercial team to understand and capture any delay entitlement. Ensure process is consistent across the business by delivering succinct reports on such matters to the planning manager.
  • Review sufficiency and efficiency of resources required to deliver the work.
  • Participate in the delivery of CP sessions as necessary and required by the operational delivery teams.
  • Coordinate with design manager to ensure that the design activities are visible and that all activities are aligned to support the programme.
Build and maintain client relationships
  • Attend start up and progress meetings with the client/site team
  • Promotion of collaborative approach to programme management

  • Review overall project status with the Project Management team and recommend corrective action where necessary.
  • Ensure that planning outputs/reports are prepared and issued in accordance with Divisional/Project Policy.
  • Ensure adherence with planning and commercial strategies to maximize entitlements on delays to the contract programme.

Expectations Summary

Through application of the responsibilities and key behaviours listed above, Planners/Senior Planners are expected to drive the following outcomes:

  • Manage tender and contract programmes in line with budget expectations and fulfil client and business requirements.
  • Identify, develop, and implement target delivery programmes to capture all works and best practices.
  • Assist the site team in development and delivery of regular collaborative planning workshops on a site-by-site basis.
Essential
Qualifications and Training
  • Degree qualified or similar in a relevant discipline, including civil engineering, demolition, construction
  • Knowledge of industrial or nuclear regulated environments
  • IT competence; Expert knowledge of Primaverra P6; integration of project controls, commercial and planning functions
Desirable
  • Recognised planning practitioner
  • Knowledge or experience of demolition, decommissioning, radiologically controlled areas, asbestos regulation
  • Knowledge of software and collaborative planning and digital production control tools
