Job summary

Matchtech Group is seeking a Senior Planner to support major water infrastructure projects across the Bristol area. The role focuses on delivering a diverse portfolio within a collaborative, high-performing environment.

Responsibilities include developing fully logic-linked programmes, monitoring progress, managing change events, and presenting outputs to stakeholders. This position requires extensive site experience and strong programme management skills across multidisciplinary infrastructure

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of construction planning and practical experience using project management software.
• Experience in programme and project management, including programme controls, project reviews, cost analysis and risk analysis.
• Ability to plan construction works from first principles, ideally across multidisciplinary major projects.
• Significant site experience in a management or supervisory capacity on relevant infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of how commercial events can affect baseline programmes.
• Proven bid and project planning experience within a construction or infrastructure environment.

Responsibilities

• Produce, manage and update construction programmes, clearly communicating progress to internal and external stakeholders.
• Monitor critical paths, analyse programme pinch points and adjust logic to improve performance or mitigate delays.
• Manage programme change events and work with commercial teams to support contractual entitlement.
• Prepare programme reports, commentary and filtered outputs showing progress and deviations from the baseline.
• Collaborate with commercial teams to produce earned value data in line with customer and organisational requirements.
• Issue formal programme updates and present progress at internal and external meetings.
• Identify, record and communicate programme risks, changes in requirements and their potential impact.
• Measure and monitor performance, presenting clear outputs to support continuous improvement.
• Develop fully logic-linked tender programmes covering design, procurement, construction and commissioning.
• Develop and manage integrated programmes aligned with project scope and delivery requirements.
• Oversee planning processes and ensure timely, complete inputs from supply chain partners.
• Support method statement development and ensure tender programmes align with pricing methodologies.
• Lead or produce logistics and phasing plans for complex infrastructure projects.
