Carmichael UK is seeking a Senior Planner to join a major infrastructure and redevelopment project at Devonport Royal Dockyard in Plymouth. The role focuses on developing, managing and controlling detailed programmes across disciplines within a live MOD environment.

The candidate will lead schedule reviews, analyse risks, and coordinate with Project Managers and engineers. The position is largely on-site with a lodge allowance for long-distance candidates.

Competenze

• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years' project planning experience in construction or major infrastructure.
• Strong civil construction knowledge.
• Proficiency with Primavera P6, MS Project or similar planning software.
• Experience developing and maintaining complex construction programmes.
• Strong analytical, communication and leadership skills.

Location: Devonport, Plymouth

Rate: £52.77 – £68.88 per hour PAYE Umbrella

IR35: Inside IR35

Hours: 45 hours per week, 08:00 – 17:30

Working Pattern: Minimum 3 days per week onsite

Lodge: Lodge allowance available for candidates residing over 50 miles from site

Working within a live MOD environment, you will take responsibility for developing, managing and controlling detailed project programmes, coordinating across multiple disciplines and driving schedule performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead programme reviews, schedule risk analysis and forecasting.
• Develop and monitor integrated design, procurement, construction and commissioning programmes.
• Monitor and communicate progress using programmes, narratives and dashboards.

About You

• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Around 5+ years' project planning experience, ideally within construction or major infrastructure.
• Strong civil construction knowledge.
• Proficiency with Primavera P6, MS Project or similar planning software.
• Experience developing and maintaining complex construction programmes.
• Strong analytical, communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to understand complex project documentation and contractual requirements.
• AACE, PMI-SP or similar planning certification would be advantageous.

Security Requirements

The position is based within a sensitive MOD environment and BPSS security clearance is required. The clearance process can take up to eight weeks. Eligibility may be affected by nationality, place of birth, current or former citizenship and residency history.
