Job summary

FutureGen Recruitment in Exeter is seeking a Senior Planner to take ownership of a diverse South West portfolio, including residential, rural, and commercial schemes, with opportunities to work alongside directors on larger strategic instructions.

You will prepare planning appraisals and statements, manage applications, maintain clear client and team communications, negotiate with local authorities, and progressively assume greater responsibility toward Principal Planner.

Continued project wins have created an opening for a Senior Planner within a growing consultancy in Exeter. The team is busy, well established and keen to add someone who can take genuine ownership of instructions.

The role

You will work across residential development, rural sites, commercial schemes, appeals and local plan promotion. Depending on seniority, you will lead or support instructions from initial appraisal to determination and beyond.

The business is interested in people who value good advice and long-term client relationships rather than unnecessary internal politics.

Package and working arrangements

The salary is £39,000–£49,000. The wider package includes hybrid working, pension, bonus, subscriptions and a clear route to Principal Planner. Exact arrangements will depend on experience and will be discussed openly during the process.
