Vivid Resourcing is seeking an RTPI qualified town planner to join our team in the UK. You will work across private and public sectors on development plans, policy, and development management tasks, coordinating pre-applications, planning applications, site promotions, and appeals.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and submitting planning applications and supporting documents (Planning Statements, Design & Access Statements).
  • Preparing Policy representations.
  • Giving oral evidence at Appeals and Examinations.
  • Understand planning law, relevant judgments and national planning policy.
  • Undertake site visits and site appraisals.
  • Attend committee meetings and speak.
  • Develop client relationships; manage projects.
  • Mentor junior staff to ensure reports are correct before submission.
  • Prepare and attend Public Exhibitions; prepare exhibition material and host.
  • Write Statements of Community Involvement documents.

Job description

Working alongside our existing team, you will be tasked with working on private, public and

community Clients. This team are skilled in working across a wide variety of sectors and on projects

that are small through to large scale. The focus of this role will see you engaging in a range of

development plan, policy, and development management work. This will include planning appraisals,

co-ordinating pre-application and planning applications, preparing local plan representations, site

promotion and appeals. You will be encouraged to attend networking events and further build your

own Client base through networking.

Duties
  • Preparing and submitting planning applications and supporting documents (writing of Planning Statements, Design & Access Statements)
  • Preparing of Policy representations
  • Giving oral evidence at Appeals and Examinations
  • A thorough understanding of planning law, relevant court judgements and national planning policy
  • Undertake site visits and site appraisals
  • Attendance at committee meetings to include speaking
  • Developing client relationships both new and existing
  • Managing and co‑ordinating project teams
  • Mentoring junior members of staff to ensure all reports are correct prior to their submission
  • Preparation and Attendance at Public Exhibitions, preparing exhibition material and hosting
  • Write Statements of Community Involvement Documents
  • Undertake their own administration work as necessary
  • Draft fee proposals in liaison with the Accounts Manager
