Job summary

Vivid Resourcing Ltd is seeking a Senior Planner to join a growing planning consultancy in Cheltenham. The role offers hybrid working and a varied caseload spanning residential extensions to large-scale developments, with close collaboration with clients and Local Planning Authorities.

You will own projects from inception through determination, manage client relationships, and contribute to team growth by mentoring junior members and sharing planning advice across the team.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years' relevant planning experience.
• Strong understanding of the UK planning system.
• RTPI membership or working towards MRTPI.
• Experience managing planning applications and projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Confident speaking with clients and Local Planning Authorities.
• Proactive, solutions-focused approach with attention to detail.

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Planner to join a growing and dynamic planning consultancy.

The business has a strong pipeline of work and is looking to strengthen its planning team with an experienced planner who can take ownership of a varied caseload, manage client relationships and contribute to the wider team.

You will have the opportunity to work across a diverse range of projects, from smaller residential extensions through to larger-scale developments, while working closely with clients and Local Planning Authorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing a varied caseload of planning applications and projects.
• Preparing and submitting planning applications and associated documentation.
• Liaising with clients, Local Planning Authorities and other stakeholders.
• Providing planning advice and developing practical solutions to planning matters.
• Managing projects from inception through to determination.
• Taking a front-facing role with clients and stakeholders.
• Confidently communicating with clients and Local Planning Authorities by phone, email and in meetings.
• Working across a range of Local Planning Authorities.
• Supporting and mentoring junior members of the planning team.
• Contributing to the continued growth and development of the consultancy.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:
