Vivid Resourcing Ltd is seeking an experienced Principal Planner to join a growing planning consultancy in the UK. You will take ownership of projects, manage client relationships and provide guidance to junior members of the team, while working on a varied portfolio from residential schemes to large, complex developments.

The role is hybrid, offering a £48,000+ salary dependent on experience, with strong progression opportunities, discretionary bonus, private healthcare and a collaborative

• Proven experience managing planning applications and projects.

Responsibilities

• Managing a varied portfolio of planning applications and projects.
• Taking responsibility for projects from inception through to determination.
• Providing strategic planning advice to clients.
• Managing and developing client relationships.
• Preparing and submitting planning applications and associated documentation.
• Liaising with Local Planning Authorities and other key stakeholders.
• Acting as a senior point of contact for clients throughout the planning process.
• Identifying practical solutions to complex planning matters.
• Mentoring and supporting junior planners within the team.
• Contributing to the development and continued growth of the planning consultancy.

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Principal Planner to join a growing and dynamic planning consultancy.

With an established pipeline of work and further growth planned, the business is looking for a confident planning professional who can take ownership of projects, manage client relationships and provide guidance to more junior members of the team.

The role offers exposure to a varied portfolio of projects, from smaller-scale residential schemes through to larger and more complex developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing a varied portfolio of planning applications and projects.
• Taking responsibility for projects from inception through to determination.
• Providing strategic planning advice to clients.
• Managing and developing client relationships.
• Preparing and submitting planning applications and associated documentation.
• Liaising with Local Planning Authorities and other key stakeholders.
• Acting as a senior point of contact for clients throughout the planning process.
• Identifying practical solutions to complex planning matters.
• Mentoring and supporting junior planners within the team.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• 4–5+ years' relevant planning experience.
• Strong knowledge of the UK planning system.
• Proven experience managing planning applications and projects.
• Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Confidence dealing directly with clients and Local Planning Authorities.
• A proactive, commercial and solutions-focused approach.
• The ability to manage multiple projects within a fast-paced consultancy.
• Experience supporting or mentoring more junior members of a team.
