Job summary

Penguin Recruitment is excited to support a leading independent planning consultancy in recruiting a Senior Town Planner to join their Cardiff team. The role offers varied projects across the UK, with meaningful responsibility and clear career progression.

The candidate will be RTPI/MRTPI qualified, experienced across sectors, and capable of managing planning applications and client advisory work. Hybrid working is available with 3 days in Cardiff.

Qualifications

• RTPI qualified with MRTPI chartership either achieved or being pursued.
• Experience across planning sectors and development types.
• Skilled in preparing, submitting and managing planning applications.
• Confident providing planning advice to clients and leading projects.
• Commercially aware with strong planning system knowledge.
• Highly organised with ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Comfortable mentoring junior colleagues.

• Proficient with Microsoft 365.

The Role

As a Senior Town Planner, You Will

• Manage a range of planning projects across different sectors.
• Prepare, submit and manage planning applications through to determination.
• Provide clear and commercially focused planning advice to clients.
• Undertake planning research and provide strategic planning advice.
• Liaise with local planning authorities, clients, consultants and other stakeholders.
• Manage project deadlines, priorities and competing demands.
• Support business development and contribute to growing the Cardiff team.
• Mentor and support junior members of the team with their professional development.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Senior Planner who is:

• RTPI qualified, with MRTPI achieved or working towards chartership.
