Aureos is seeking a Senior Planner to lead complex planning activities for the Washwood Heath depot project in Birmingham, part of the HS2 JV. You will develop schedules, manage resources, and mitigate delays through proactive planning and oversight.

You will collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to define scope and deliverables, monitor progress, and drive timely project completion while ensuring compliance with JV policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
  • 8–10 years progressive planning/scheduling experience in infrastructure.
  • Proficient in Primavera P6 or MS Project and CPM/EVM knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain detailed project schedules with critical path analyses.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to define scope and deliverables.
  • Monitor progress, identify variances, and create recovery plans to keep projects on track.
  • Conduct risk assessments related to timelines and resources; propose mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare planning reports, forecasts, and analyses for senior management and clients.
  • Lead planning meetings and mentor junior planners on scheduling best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with JV policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.

Job Responsibilities:\\*\\* \\* Develop, implement, and maintain detailed project schedules and critical path analyses for multiple infrastructure projects, utilizing industry-standard planning software. \\* Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables, and translate these into comprehensive project plans. \\* Conduct regular progress monitoring, identify variances from the baseline schedule, and develop recovery plans to ensure projects remain on track. \\* Perform risk assessments related to project timelines and resources, and propose mitigation strategies to minimize potential impacts. \\* Prepare and present detailed planning reports, forecasts, and analyses to senior management and clients, providing clear insights into project status and potential challenges. \\* Facilitate planning meetings, workshops, and review sessions to ensure alignment and effective communication across project teams. \\* Mentor and provide guidance to junior planners and project team members on best practices in project planning and scheduling. \\* Ensure compliance with all relevant JV policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. \\* Participate in the continuous improvement of planning processes and tools within the organization. A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., PMP, PSP) is highly desirable. \\* Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in project planning and scheduling, specifically within the infrastructure sector (e.g., transportation, utilities, civil works). \\* Expert proficiency in project planning software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar tools. \\* Strong understanding of critical path methodology (CPM), earned value management (EVM), and other project control techniques. \\* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex workstreams simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively. \\* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a keen eye for detail. \\* Superior communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders. \\* Proven leadership capabilities and experience in mentoring team members. \\* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. \\* Strong commitment to safety and quality.\\* Have understanding of risk management and assist the risk team
