Job summary

Rullion is seeking an experienced Senior Planner to join a major engineering programme on an 18-month contract in Reading. You will maintain the Integrated Master Schedule, produce forecasts and support EVM reporting. The role requires strong Primavera P6 expertise, schedule integrity, and stakeholder engagement with project managers, engineers and scientists.

Qualifications

• Significant senior-level planning experience.
• Strong Primavera P6 experience and the ability to champion best-practice planning across projects.
• Strong knowledge of Integrated Master Scheduling and schedule management.
• A thorough understanding of planning fundamentals and critical path analysis.
• Practical experience of Earned Value Management / EVMS.
• Experience analysing schedule performance, including SPI and variance analysis.
• Experience working within a large, complex organisation or major engineering programme.
• The ability to demonstrate how your planning expertise has added value to projects and programmes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• The confidence to work with senior project managers, engineers, scientists and business teams.
• Experience developing or improving planning processes, procedures, templates or guidance.
• A proactive approach with the ability to take ownership and promote effective planning practices.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and develop the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) across supported projects and programmes.
• Provide expert planning support to Project and Task Managers.
• Lead schedule integrity, network analysis and critical path analysis activities.
• Produce accurate and timely schedule forecasts and planning reports.
• Deliver planning and Earned Value (EV) outputs in line with agreed business rhythms.
• Provide high-quality schedule performance and variance analysis, including SPI.
• Support long-range operational and integrated programme planning activities.
• Implement and maintain effective planning processes, policies, procedures and guidelines.
• Support the continuous improvement of end-to-end planning and project controls processes.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with key project stakeholders.
• Provide planning expertise and guidance to internal project teams.
• Support the implementation and use of planning tools, EVMS templates and associated training.
• Support emerging projects and programme activities as required.
• Communicate planning information clearly to Project Managers, engineers, scientists and wider business stakeholders.
• Promote high standards of health, safety, quality, security and environmental responsibility.
• Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary project and programme team

Role information:
