Job summary

Recruit 2 You is seeking a Mechanical Engineer (Piping) in Derbyshire to design and develop piping layouts and mechanical systems for industrial and energy projects. You will produce calculations, drawings, and documentation while performing pipe stress analyses to ensure safe, compliant designs.

The role requires a degree in Mechanical Engineering, 3+ years (6+ for Senior) piping experience, and fluency in English.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3+ years mechanical design experience (6+ years for Senior).
• Experience in piping design or pipe stress analysis in industrial/process environments.
• Familiarity with ASME B31.1/B31.3, EN 13480 or PED.
• Proficient in AutoCAD Plant 3D, AVEVA E3D or CAESAR II.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent English (minimum B2).
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop piping layouts and mechanical systems for industrial and energy-related projects.
• Produce engineering calculations, technical drawings, and supporting documentation.
• Carry out pipe stress and flexibility analysis to ensure safe and compliant designs.
• Interpret customer specifications, P&IDs, and engineering documentation to develop practical engineering solutions.
• Work closely with CAD and design teams to produce high-quality 3D models and manufacturing drawings.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant industry codes, standards, and client requirements.
• Provide technical support to internal teams, customers, and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.
