Qualifications

• NMC registered children's nurse with post-qualification experience in paediatrics or relevant advanced care.
• Proven communication, teaching and supervisory skills.
• Ability to plan, assess, implement and evaluate care plans for children and supervise staff.
• Understanding of safeguarding and professional standards in paediatric settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide the highest standard of nursing care for children and their families.
• Plan, assess, implement and evaluate care for individual children and supervise staff accordingly.
• Create a welcoming, caring and safe environment in the ward.
• Act as advocate and direct families to appropriate support services.
• Supervise ward team and ensure treatments prescribed by medical staff are carried out.
• Support education and practical training of learners and junior staff.
• Engage in teaching and maintain patient confidentiality and accurate documentation.
