Job summary

William James Recruitment is seeking a Professional Indemnity Associate or Senior Associate to join a leading national law firm in Liverpool. You will handle high-value professional liability claims for insurer clients, including multi-party construction disputes.

You will advise on liability, quantum, and litigation strategy throughout the claims process, draft pleadings and reports, and mentor junior colleagues while contributing to business development and client relationships.

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor with experience appropriate to Associate or Senior Associate level.
• Experience handling professional liability or construction-related litigation claims.
• Strong technical knowledge of construction disputes and professional negligence matters.
• Experience supervising, mentoring or developing junior colleagues.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills with a proactive approach to business development.

Responsibilities

• Leading on complex, high-value and multi-party construction professional indemnity claims.
• Managing claims on behalf of insurer clients involving a broad range of construction professionals.
• Advising on liability, quantum, evidence and litigation strategy throughout the claims process.
• Handling matters from the pre-action stage through to resolution, including ADR, litigation and arbitration.
• Drafting pleadings, detailed reports and other legal documentation, as well as instructing Counsel and experts where required.
• Supervising, mentoring and training junior team members handling lower-value claims.
• Supporting the development of new and existing client relationships through business development initiatives.
